A man linked to a recent Richmond homicide has been critically injured by what appears to be a self-inflicted gunshot wound near the San Pablo Police Department. The incident occurred on Tuesday and comes a day after a separate shooting in San Pablo left one man dead and another in critical condition, per the San Pablo Police Department. Police were approached by the individual shortly before hearing the gunshot on Tuesday evening. Despite a language barrier that limited their communication, the officers attempted to engage with the man before redirecting their attention to an unrelated call. Moments later, they found him suffering from a gunshot wound, which had left him critically injured. The San Pablo Police Department has since confirmed the 44-year-old San Pablo resident is a person of interest in the aforementioned Richmond homicide case on Monday.
The suspect or suspects in a shooting on Rumrill Boulevard that left one Richmond man dead and another in critical condition remain at large. Local law enforcement is looking into the homicide while the injured man continues to fight for his life.
